My name is Hunter Chitwood and I am the operations and engagement intern at PeopleFund for the spring of 2016. I’m currently completing my final semester as a Corporate Communications major at The University of Texas at Austin with a Business Foundations Certification, as well. Throughout my college career I’ve had the opportunity to study abroad in Berlin, intern with the Sustainable Food Center – a non-profit committed to strengthening local food systems, assist in the development of several startup companies, as well as develop my own passion for communications, business, and entrepreneurship. My other loves include world travel, good coffee, and my cat. Hopefully I can one day find a career that incorporates all three.
Through my experiences in business and in the many Austin startup communities, I’ve come to crave the excitement and energy that accompanies a growing enterprise. Helping people recognize their passions and build their dreams has become a priority to me in wherever I may find myself in the future, and it’s this mission that attracted me to PeopleFund. Their dedication to the development and education of small businesses from underrepresented backgrounds is an inspiration, especially as a woman with my own entrepreneurial dreams. This spring I hope to support PeopleFund’s mission in becoming the premier nonprofit lender in Texas and to help our local communities thrive.
