Gustavo Lasala

President & CEO
Gustavo is a seasoned microfinance practitioner passionate about advancing opportunities for underserved communities through capital. Prior to becoming President and CEO of PeopleFund he held leadership positions with top-tier community lenders where he was instrumental in their growth at a national level. Highlights of his career include: the development of LiftFund’s MMS - an early “lending as a service” platform tailored to microlending in the US; the financial engineering of a $30M asset purchase agreement between LiftFund and Citibank - a first in US microlending; the expansion of Oportun (from 35 to 85 stores) where he was directly responsible for the production of 20,000 loans per month; he redefined the CFO role for Opportunity Fund and put together credit facilities that helped the organization become the largest non-profit microlender in US. Most recently he co-founded and managed Listo, an organization providing financial products and services to thousands in California. Gustavo has served on the boards of Opportunity Finance Network, Foundation for Women and School of Excellence - San Antonio and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
Shay Erickson

Executive Vice President
Shay joined the PeopleFund staff in April 2010 and has over 14 years of administrative and managerial experience. In her role, Shay oversees our facilities, information technology, and vendor management statewide. She also coordinates human resources, office administration, and special projects, Originally from Chicago, Shay earned a Bachelor’s degree from University of Wisconsin at Madison and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from St. Edward’s University in Austin. Prior to PeopleFund, Shay honed her operational skills in the healthcare industry, working at several area medical practices. Throughout her career she has volunteered with several non-profit organizations and therapy practices. Outside of the office, Shay enjoys spending time with her two young sons and shelter dog, Olive.
Julia Dunn

Julia Dunn

Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Julia is responsible for monitoring all internal financial and accounting controls, provides financial modeling and analysis experience to the Executive Team and program staff. Julia has twenty years of non-profit accounting and finance experience. She began her career at KPMG in Dallas and worked as an Audit Manager for non-profit engagements. Additionally, she has served as Director of Finance for several non-profit agencies. Julia received her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and an MBA (Accounting Emphasis) from Texas Tech University.
Jemerell Rogers

Director of Lending
As Director of Lending, Jemerell is responsible for statewide loan production and creation of responsive loan products that meet client need. Jemerell focuses on our mission to create access to capital to underserved Texas entrepreneurs, leveraging partnerships and community engagement to help small businesses thrive. Jemerell supervises PeopleFund’s lending and loan administration team throughout the state to advance economic opportunity in rural and urban communities. As a member of Austin’s financial industry for over 11 years and operating his own business for 4 years, Jemerell is in tune with the obstacles faced by many PeopleFund clients. With a keen understanding of the traditional financial mainstream, Jemerell looks forward to creating opportunities to help small businesses thrive. Originally hired as a loan officer, Jemerell was promoted to a Senior Loan Officer and Director of Lending, a showcase of his commitment to PeopleFund and the underserved entrepreneurs we elevate.

Mike Mora

504 Loan Director
In his role as Director of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) 504 Lending for PeopleFund, Mike is responsible for the program development and administration including business development, eligibility, credit policy and compliance with federal regulations, reporting and staff training. He is a mission driven professional who believes in the economic opportunities afforded to the Texas small business community. Before joining PeopleFund, Mike was Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Certified Development Corporation, an SBA certified development company for the past 15 years serving as the Chairman and then President of the organization. He has also served as Senior Vice President for Commercial Lending with local community and national banks. Mike also served in the federal government and retired from the U.S. Department of Commerce as Senior National Access to Capital Specialist for the Minority Business Development Agency, Washington D.C. He also served as Chief, Financing Division for the U.S. Small Business Administration in SBA’s Region VI, San Antonio District Office for 8 years. He received his bachelor’s degree in Business from Southern Methodist University and pursued advanced post graduate MBA studies at the University of Dallas. Mike is an active member of his community belonging to several boards including the North Texas Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders and loan committee member of the Texas Mezzanine Fund, a statewide Community Development Financial Institution. He is married to Susan Daywood and has three children and three grandchildren. Mike is a veteran of the armed services having served his country in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam era.
Grant Bennett

Director of Veteran Programs
Grant joined the PeopleFund team as intern in August of 2014. Grant was hired full time as the Lending Support Officer in October 2014 after showing tremendous aptitude and a desire to further PeopleFund’s mission. He was a Senior Underwriter from March 2016 to April 2018. Grant now manages the national CDFI collaborative Veteran LLC. Veteran LLC works to increase access to capital, business education, and training for military veteran small business owners and their families. Grant grew up in Jackson, Ohio and joined the Army after high school. He served two combat deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Grant then served in the Texas National Guard as a Non-Commissioned Officer in an Airborne Infantry unit. He has a BBA in Management from St. Edward’s University and a MS in Technology Commercialization from the University of Texas at Austin.
Katherine Sobel

Senior Manager of Training & Education
As manager of curriculums and mentorship, Katherine oversees creation and implementation of educational curriculums statewide and also leads PeopleFund’s mentor program, bringing together highly-skilled professionals and business owners in need. Katherine focuses on raising the expertise of entrepreneurs through comprehensive learning opportunities, including classroom-style instruction, integrated bootcamps, an online education portal, and tailored business advising. Katherine also administers PeopleFund’s business education contract with the City of Austin. Katherine joined the PeopleFund family in June of 2016 as the Education Specialist, focusing on expanding the organization’s mentor program and diversifying learning opportunities. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from Texas State, and is now working on her Ph.D. through Texas Tech. Katherine is passionate about the sustainability of PeopleFund clients and Texas business owners through education, training, and outreach.
Patricia Colomo Baray

Patricia Colomo Baray

Portfolio Risk Manager
Patricia joined Peoplefund as a Development and Finance intern and was quickly promoted because of her experience and work ethic. She graduated in December 2012 from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a minor in Business Administration. Prior to joining Peoplefund, she assisted a UT professor with her research about the socioeconomic returns in education in developing countries and volunteered in other organizations, such as Latinitas, Candlelighters, and the American Cancer Society.

Krysta Diaz

Underwriting Manager
As a Senior Underwriter, Krysta structures, underwrites and approves small business loans as well as monitor the financial health of PeopleFund clients. Krysta is a proud Texas native, born and raised in Houston. She graduated from the University of Texas-Austin in May 2010 with a BBA in Finance and minor in Psychology and was a member of the Women in Business Association. She has over three years of experience underwriting small business loans in the online lending field while living in New York City. Krysta comes from a family of entrepreneurs and is deeply committed to helping fellow Texans pursue the American Dream. When she is not in office, Krysta loves to be outdoors- hiking, kayaking, camping and loves a good puzzle.

Bridget Uribe

Loan Administration Manager
Bridget joined PeopleFund team as a Finance intern in January 2014. Bridget was hired full time as an Assistant Loan Administrator after earning a Bachelor's degree with honors and a concentration in Finance from St. Edward's University in May 2015. Bridget graduated with an MBA in May 2018 from Texas A&M University - San Antonio. Bridget became a Loan Administration Manager in September 2018. As Loan Administration Manager, Bridget supports the lending team in assessing best practices and products for PeopleFund's clients. Outside of the office, Bridget enjoys spending time with her family, friends, dog, and cat.

Demetria Scott

SBA & Loan Closing Manager
In her role of Loan Closing Officer, Demetria is responsible for assembling, preparing, and verify closing documents for aspiring entrepreneurs. She has over 20 years of experience in the retail mortgage industry; she uniquely understands that the financial picture for each client has its own story. Demetria has her Bachelors of Arts in Fashion Design from Norfolk State University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in management from Sam Houston State University. Demetria is extremely active in her community working with the Bastrop food pantry and community events. She is happily married to her husband Anthony with two children and a Scottish Terrier named Scottie. When not working with business owners, Demetria enjoys traveling, designing swimwear, and restoring vintage furniture.

Angela Amaya

Systems and Data Manager
Angela joined the PeopleFund team in January 2017 and brings over 5 years of operational and program support experience. In her role as Systems & Data Manager, Angela streamlines IT processes across all of the organization’s offices in Texas and supports PeopleFund’s impact measurement for the education department. She is a proud member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie class of 2008 and holds a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the Bush School of Government and Public Service. When she’s not empowering small business owners, you can find Angela exploring local coffee shops in her hometown of Austin, playing Ultimate Frisbee, or nose deep in a good book.

Senior Economic Development Officer-South Texas
Martha Victoria joined the PeopleFund team in November 2017 as a Loan Officer serving the Laredo market, but now serves as the Spanish Programs and Mentorship Manager. A native to Laredo, Martha Victoria has over 4 years of experience in the nonprofit lending industry as a Sr. Lending Assistant with LiftFund, Inc. She is currently pursuing her bachelors in History with a concentration in Colonial America and minoring in business administration at Texas A&M Intl University. Martha Victoria comes from a line of entrepreneurs and is committed to help fellow Texans pursue the American Dream in the border town of Laredo. You can find her spending time with friends and family on weekends. Martha Victoria enjoys attending local artists’ events where fellow Laredoans display handmade goods. With joy in her heart, Martha Victoria looks forward to helping small businesses thrive in her community.

Bill joined the PeopleFund team in November 2016. As a regional lending manager for the Rio Grande Valley, he is responsible for identifying and supporting the financial needs of local businesses and working with them throughout the loan process. Bill has over 33 years of banking experience, which includes business lending, retail lending, mortgages and customer service. Bill is fully bilingual and is ready to assist Spanish-speaking clients.

Erika joined the PeopleFund team in 2012 and currently serves as the regional lending manager for Dallas/Fort Worth. She is responsible for creating partnerships throughout the North Texas footprint and assists clients throughout the loan process. Her diverse background includes experience in lending, grant writing, community outreach, and business assistance & education. She is proud to serve on the American Heart Association Circle of Red committee and is an officer in the Burleson Chamber Power of Heels committee. She is also Head Judge for the City of Fort Worth Business Plan Competition. Erika was awarded Top 400 Most Influential People in 2018 and 2019 by Fort Worth Inc. magazine. Her passion is to help entrepreneurs realize their full potential.
Sheyenne Alvarez

Sheyenne first joined the PeopleFund team as a volunteer, and quickly joined the staff full time. As a passionate representative of the organization’s mission to create economic opportunity, Sheyenne supports with startups, established businesses, and nonprofit clients – educating them about accessing capital and the process of obtaining capital. Sheyenne’s experience spans entrepreneurship, banking, and finance. Currently, she focuses on the Central Texas community, where she lives and raises her four children. A graduate from Texas State University with a degree in management and entrepreneurial studies, Sheyenne empowers clients so they can access the funds needed to create jobs, provide needed community services, and achieve the American Dream. An active member of her community, Sheyenne dedicates time outside of the office to volunteering, and has worked with Court Appointed Special Advocates, Boy Scouts of America, and neighborhood organizations.

Lago Lopez

Loan Officer - Central Texas
Born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, Lago Lopez brings over 10 years of banking and loan experience to the PeopleFund team. As loan officer, Lago is responsible for identifying and supporting the financial needs of local businesses, and ensuring their success throughout the loan process. After graduating from Texas A&M with a degree in Business Administration, Lago worked in retail administration before he began his career in financial services. When he’s not at the office, you can find Lago either boating, riding his motorcycle, or listening to live music around the city. Lago is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Laura Gomez

Loan Officer - El Paso
Laura joined PeopleFund in July 2019 as a Loan Officer serving the Greater El Paso/West Texas region. In her role, Laura works with clients in support of meeting their business goals via access to capital and sharing tools and resources for business success. Laura has over six years of experience in small business development nonprofits, providing underserved entrepreneurs with business training and 1-on-1 coaching, specifically to food-based businesses. Her program management experience includes the launch of a food business incubator which provided access to affordable commercial kitchen space, access to sales opportunities through community partnerships, and industry specific food-business training. Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a focus in International Economic Development and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Seattle University. She is an alumna of NALCAB’s (National Association of Latino Community Asset Builders) Community Economic Development Fellowship, Class of 2016. Laura is a native speaker of both Spanish and English.

As a loan officer for San Antonio, Oscar works directly with entrepreneurs to help them access capital and tools for small business success. Originally from Arlington, Oscar is passionate about creating economic opportunity in San Antonio. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington and recently obtained his Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in management. Oscar comes to PeopleFund with a wealth of experience in the financial sector, having worked at Woodforest National Bank, GM Financial, and Nicholas Financial. He enjoys modern architecture and design and outside of the office spends time pursuing photography, basketball, and athletics.

Robert Zuniga

Loan Officer - Dallas
Robert joined PeopleFund as a loan officer in March 2019 passionate about empowering entrepreneurs and small business owners in Dallas through access to capital. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Robert and his family moved to Texas when he was 12 years old and has been a Texan ever since, attending Eastfield College and University of Texas in Arlington. He has worked in the financial sector for a number of years and uniquely understands the challenges facing aspriring entrepreneurs and is dedicated to small business success. Active in the community, Robert is a member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and volunteers for the Boys and Girls Club in Dallas, TX.

Cindy Urrutia

Loan Officer - Houston
As the daughter of an entrepreneur, Cindy understands the challenges small business owners face and is passionate about advancing access to affordable capital for entrepreneurs. She joined the PeopleFund team in the summer of 2019 after 12 years in banking with both BBVA and J.P. Morgan Chase. In addition to her experience in the financial sector, Cindy has certifications in real estate and insurance. She has a degree in Business Administration and Finance from the University of Houston Downtown. Outside of the office, Cindy enjoys spending time with her family and finding new places to eat with her teenage daughter.

Brittany Rivera

Loan Officer- Lubbock
A Native Texan, Brittany is passionate about empowering fellow Texans through entrepreneurship and small business development. As a Loan Officer for Lubbock, she guides entrepreneurs through the loan process and supports the financial needs of local businesses. Brittany has over 6 years’ experience in the financial services industry including her tenures at City Bank and Wells Fargo assisting community members with personal, auto, and debt consolidation loans. When she isn’t working with entrepreneurs, Brittany loves playing board games with her four kids, close family, and friends.

Manuel Santos

Loan Officer- Laredo
With over 12 years’ experience in banking and finance, Manuel has worked in both retail and business banking departments managing branches for Wells Fargo, CitiBank, and BB&T in South and Central Texas. As a Loan Officer, he is focused on supporting small business owners and helping this find the right lending solution to start or grow their business. A former business owner himself, Manuel and his brother ran a frozen yogurt business in Laredo and uniquely understands the challenges facing entrepreneurs today. Born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico, Manuel and his family have been living in the United States since 1997. Manuel is an active community member, volunteering once a week as a Spanish Public Speaker Instructor and provides interpretation services. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, outdoor activities and has a knack for playing musical instruments.

Neydin Costilla

Loan Officer - RGV, Corpus, & Surrounding Areas
Originally from Brownsville, Neydin joined the PeopleFund team in December 2019. Neydin works with clients in support of meeting their business goals via access to capital and sharing tools and resources for business success. Neydin became passionate for entrepreneurship at a young age. Her mother started a business from home and turned it into an international business with five locations. She was in business for thirty years serving the Rio Grande Valley and the North of Tamaulipas Mexico. Raised in a family-owned small business environment has made Neydin passionate to work with entrepreneurs. Neydin has over 15 years of experience in the financial sector, having worked for Wells Fargo, Chase, and Bank of America. These experiences have given Neydin the opportunity to work with all type of businesses, including businesses that she has helped grow to be successful.
Jackie Ramos

Staff Accountant
Jackie Ramos first joined the PeopleFund team in May 2015 to support lending and education programs in the greater San Antonio region. After a short time overseeing the opening of the Bloom Lab coworking and resource center for women, Jackie was promoted to accounting assistant in the winter of 2016. In her role as Staff Accountant, Jackie advances the finance department’s recording and reporting of information while also providing financial guidance and accounting assistance to PeopleFund clients. Jackie graduated from Texas State University with a degree in accounting and graduated with an MBA in May 2017 from Texas A&M. She is currently working towards completing a CPA license. Armed with a passion for advancing women in entrepreneurship and accounting/finance/audit experience, Jackie is committed to PeopleFund’s mission of creating economic opportunity for all. Outside of the office, Jackie is a member of the National Association for Black Accountants and enjoys fitness, music, and football.
Ava Villegas

Ava Villegas

Senior Underwriter
In her role as Underwriter, Ava structures and underwrites loans that have a community impact in Texas communities, and analyzes each loan request for associated risks and compliance with internal credit policy. Prior to joining PeopleFund, Ava worked as a Business Finance Analyst. She assisted with financial systems and management of her client’s financials and growth. She consulted with clients one-to-one in building their financials to help them better understand the use of financial tools for their strategic use in accessing capital. Ava earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin, with an Honors Business Foundations Certificate, and is currently pursuing her Actuarial Certification (CERA). Ava is passionate about leadership and promotes small business development, entrepreneurship, and finance among woman, minorities, and low-income communities. She founded JetsetHer, a magazine for woman entrepreneurs; working for PeopleFund has empowered Ava to share and assists other aspiring entrepreneurs to find capital and education to build successful businesses. She is an avid reader, enjoys building, coding websites and algorithms, and shares healthy fitness goals with her family.

Laura Tran Perry

Portfolio Quality Manager
As Portfolio Quality Manager, Laura manages PeopleFund’s diverse portfolio and works hand in hand with clients with loan modifications, restructures, and collections. Dedicated to business development and empowering entrepreneurs, Laura has worked in financial services throughout her career and was previously a small business underwriter in California. A native of the Bay Area, Laura graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business. As a daughter of a small business owner who owns and operates a restaurant in South Austin, Laura has firsthand experience with the challenges facing entrepreneurs today. Outside the office, you can find her curled up with a good book or enjoying time with her family exploring Austin.

Originally from Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, Fernando Aaron Fernandez Legarda graduated from UT Austin with a Bachelors of Arts in Economics and minors in Finance and Italian. He is a positive, high-achiever, and hard-working person who is eager to learn new things and passionate about helping others. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs and small business owners, he understands the complications and struggles small businesses face day to day. Fernando is passionate about helping entrepreneurs achieve financial stability for themselves and their families.
Amanda Markoe

Amanda Markoe

Marketing Associate
As Marketing Associate, Amanda focuses on marketing initiatives for the organization. As a former Education Specialist at PeopleFund, Amanda helped educate entrepreneurs in marketing their business and coordinated free workshops across the state. Prior to joining PeopleFund, she worked as a Social Media Intern at Holocaust Museum Houston. She graduated in May 2018 from St. Edward’s University with a major in Digital Media Management. In her academic career, she worked as the president of New Literati, an on-campus publication that publishes student and alumni work. She also received first place in the iChallenge on the Hilltop Ideas for Innovation competition and third place in the iChallenge on the Hilltop Business Plan Competition for creating a nonprofit organization that helps homeless women receive access to feminine hygiene products. She also worked as a horseback-riding counselor at Cheley Colorado Camps for two summers.

Carl Perry

Fundraising and Policy Associate
As Fundraising and Policy Associate, Carl focuses on creating grant proposals and reports, developing and advocating for beneficial and relevant public policy at the state and local level, coordinating outreach efforts to establish partnerships and identify stakeholders in existing and emerging markets, and providing support to the education team for logistics and reporting, as needed. Carl’s involvement in the nonprofit sector began with volunteering and working for the fundraising team at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Fort Worth. Inspired by his work there, Carl collaborated with two other students at his college to create a nonprofit that provides educational opportunities to children and women in Honduras. For the last three years, Carl has lived in Austin, graduated from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at UT, and worked for a few state agencies along the way. When not at work, Carl enjoys playing and discovering new music, as well as exploring the city.

Stacy Everett

Education Specialist- Business Advising & Client Engagement
Stacy rejoined PeopleFund in December 2019 as an Education Specialist, helping clients build a strong foundation for their business through planning, financials, and creating unique solutions to everyday problems. She relocated to Austin, TX from Indianapolis, IN in the spring of 2017. Having worked with small businesses most of her career, she is dedicated to empower clients reach their maximum potential. In her free time, Stacy enjoys spending time with her husband and two small children, being outdoors, practicing new recipes, and watching football.
Shane Cormier

Shane joined PeopleFund in late 2016 with a mission to heal the world one business at a time. As an SBA Loan Servicing Specialist, Shane is helping to nurture the SBA Community Advantage clients by coaching via site visits, and aligning them with the proper resources to assist in their advancement and success. Shane has 15+ years’ experience with businesses of varying size and mission, focusing on the customer’s goals and missions. Specifically, his experience entails Account Management, Customer Success Management, Tech and Small Business Consulting, Coaching, Leadership and Marketing. He received his Bachelor’s Business Admin from Lamar University and is certified in Coaching, Gallup Strengths Training and is a Certified Scrum Master. Outside of Shane’s professional experience, he volunteers as a Mentor for Everwise, a Reading Buddy for Andrews Elementary 4th graders and, as of recently, volunteered as a Community Ambassador with Urban Co-Lab. Shane’s mission in life is to assist other with their inherent abilities and guide them to their next step.
Jessica Hernandez

Jessica joined the PeopleFund team in the summer of 2016, and comes to San Antonio by way of Southern California and El Paso, Texas. A finance graduate from the UTEP, Jessica has extensive experience in sales, administration, education, and the public sector. Empowered with a passion for helping others achieve their personal and professional goals, Jessica helps underserved entrepreneurs across South Central Texas reach the American Dream. Outside of the office, Jessica enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Skandra Craniotis

Assistant Loan Administrator
Originally from San Pedro Sula, Honduras, Skandra Craniotis is a graduate of St. Edward’s University, where she earned a degree in Finance with a minor in Economics, with honors. She has joined the PeopleFund team as Assistant Loan Administrator, supporting the lending team in assessing best practices and products for PeopleFund's clients. Caring and hard-working, Skandra brings a passion for and a belief in economic opportunity's ability to make a difference in the lives of often-overlooked minorities. She is also fluent in both Spanish and English and is always willing to lend a hand to others. Outside the office, Skandra enjoys movies and spending time with friends and family.

Stocha Scranton

Operations Assistant
Stocha has worked in a variety of industries, including retail and healthcare. She has experience in working with the public in a sales capacity. She has also worked as a credentialing coordinator for an independent review organization. In her role as a front desk coordinator, she became familiar with the day-to-day operations of non-profit organizations. Stocha earned her Bachelor's degree in English in 2018 through the University of Phoenix's distance education program while working full-time. She plans to further her education by obtaining a Master’s degree in communications. Outside of her work, Stocha enjoys a wide array of hobbies, including reading and writing, crafting, and spending time with friends and family. She has two cats and a dog.

Bailee Fields

Customer Service Representative - Central Texas
As a Customer Service Representative, Bailee assists the Loan Officer in educating and supporting small business owners in the Austin area throughout the loaning process. Bailee attended Texas State University as an Economics student, where she gained most of her financial experience. Bailee is also a competitive quidditch player and spends most of her free time on the quidditch pitch.

Heather Jenkins

Customer Service Representative- Fort Worth
As a Customer Service Representative, Heather Jenkins assists Fort Worth, Texas entrepreneurs’ with their business financial and educational needs. She believes that the key to building a healthy community is the success of small businesses. When she’s not in the office, you can find Heather painting, reading, enjoying the outdoors or simply spending time with family.

Alma Garcia

Customer Service Representative - RGV
As a Customer Service Representative, Alma assists entrepreneurs in the Rio Grande Valley with their business financial and educational needs. Alma’s passionate about financial growth in her community and making great customer relationships. Alma brings over 20 years of experience in customer service. She previously worked for a CPA, which gave her experience in accounts receivable, payroll, bookkeeping, and office management. Additionally, she managed a loan company in the Houston area before she decided to move to the Valley in 2007. In 2016, Alma decided to move to the Corpus Christi area where she had the opportunity to work for a non-profit organization. Alma learned more about social services in the area before moving back to the Valley in 2018. Alma joined the PeopleFund team in January 2020 and continues to help others in her community. Outside of work, Alma enjoys fishing, cooking, and watching movies with her family.

Maricela Santoyo

Customer Service Representative - Houston
Maricela Santoyo, born and raised in the windy city of Chicago, joins the PeopleFund team as a Customer Service Representative, where she educates and supports small business owners in the Houston area throughout the loan process. Fluent in English and Spanish, Maricela also brings over 10 years of experience in customer service from the insurance industry. She is excited to work for an organization dedicated to building up communities. Outside of the office, Maricela loves spending time with her family, watching wrestling and sports, and taking long nature walks.

LaChandra Cobb

504 Credit Officer
LaChandra Cobb joined PeopleFund in June 2019 as part of the merger with CDC of the Southwest. In her role as 504 Credit Officer, she is responsible for promoting, underwriting, packaging, processing, and closing loans under the SBA 504 program. LaChandra’s commercial lending career started in banking where she spent over 20 years primarily focused on the various SBA lending programs. Her focus became strictly SBA 504 when she joined CDC of the Southwest in 2016. A native Texan, LaChandra holds a BBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from University of Phoenix-Dallas. Outside of work, LaChandra enjoys cardio dance, nature walks, reading, and spending time with her young daughter, Kayla Marie.

Marion Tarin

504 Servicing Manager
Marion Tarin recently joined PeopleFund as an SBA 504 Servicing Manager to promote best practices and adherence to the SBA 504 Loan Program Policies and Procedures. Marion has over 40 years of banking experience with over 30 years in lending and servicing SBA loans. He has been involved in all areas of the SBA 504 Loan Program and believes that this SBA product provides small businesses the best opportunity for financial stability. When he is away from work, Marion enjoys being with his wife, three daughters, and four grandchildren.

Elvira Valles

Lending Consultant
Elvira is passionate about empowering entrepreneurs through access to capital. With more than 17 years in the finance industry, Elvira has been a dedicated advocate for small businesses in the community and has been named as Financial Services Champion and Minority Advocate by the U.S. Small Business Administration El Paso Office. She works closely with business owners to help them understand their capital options, increase their business knowledge, and connect them with additional resources in the community.
