Congratulations to Forward Times Associate Editor Jeffrey L. Boney, who was honored this past Tuesday, March 3rd at the 2015 African American Legislative Summit, hosted by the Texas Legislative Black Caucus (TLBC) in Austin, Texas.
Boney was nominated by State Rep. Ron Reynolds (District 27) and was the recipient of the Outstanding Texan Community Service Award from the Texas Legislative Black Caucus. He received the honor at the TLBC breakfast, where Emmy Award winner and acclaimed actress Lynn Whitfield served as the keynote speaker.
“I’m deeply honored and humbled by this special recognition,” said Boney. “Oftentimes, you don’t pay attention to the people who are watching you, so when you receive an honor like this you are overwhelmed with gratitude. I want to thank Rep. Reynolds for the selection and I hope to continue making a difference in the lives of people here in Texas and abroad.”
In addition to his work at the Forward Times, Boney is also the founder and chief executive officer of the Texas Business Alliance, as well as the current host of his own nationally-recognized daily radio program called “Real Talk with Jeffrey L. Boney” on the “All New” 1230 KCOH (kcohradio.com), broadcasting from Houston, Texas.
