The 5th Annual Women’s Empowerment Conference (WE Con) is Saturday, April 21! WE Con is presented every spring by the Women’s Community Center of Central Texas. It strives to be a welcoming community event where women, girls (cis and trans) and those who care about them can share knowledge and insights, build community, and find self-empowerment.
Our incredible Bloom Lab member, Women’s Community Center of Central Texas is celebrating the fifth year of WE Con, and invite everyone to be part of what is becoming an Austin tradition. The event will be a whole day of workshops lead by women in the community, and individuals doing important work in Central Texas. WE Con offers a range of workshops and panels from local activists and community organizations. Workshops and panels combine both practicality and timeliness with a social justice slant. Some highlights for this year include: – We are the Magic We’ve Been Waiting For, all women of color (WOC) panel on entrepreneurship – Financial Strength: From Eyeballing to a Clear Picture, a workshop on financial abuse and independence – Cultivating LGBTQ Inclusivity in the Workplace, Home, and Beyond. There will be a track of workshops for teens, workshops in Spanish, and complimentary childcare as well.
WE Con 2018 is open to all women and girls (cis and trans), and those who are interested in learning about issues affecting these communities in Austin and the surrounding areas. Even if you’re not part of these communities, this is your chance to learn what you can do to support them! We’re not all women, but we can all certainly support women in a way.
