By Noelle Darilek

PeopleFund client CocoAndre has been invited to participate in the Fulfilling America’s Future: Latinas in the U.S. summit at the White House this October.

CocoAndre is a mother-daughter chocolatier shop based in Dallas, TX. Mother Andrea Pedraza has been working to perfect her craft for the past 30 years and in 2009 opened CocoAndre Chocolatier in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas. She strives to combine European techniques with flavors from Mexico through her truffles and chocolate treats.

Having a background in business and marketing, Andrea’s daughter, Cindy, joined the CocoAndre team and has helped to make the business the success it is today.

The pair has been invited for the second time to the White House by the White House Initiative on Education Excellence for Hispanics. The summit aims to showcase the findings of the Fulfilling America’s Future: Latinas in the U.S. report and further the discussion of topics addressed at the White House United State of Women event. The report showcases Latinas essential role and participation in several areas in the U.S. from education to politics.

Andrea has also been selected to be a panelist at the Latinas in the Economy: The Spirit of Entrepreneurship in America session.

CocoAndre found PeopleFund through The Tory Burch Foundation Capital Program powered by Bank of America. The program aims to help women entrepreneurs find affordable loans to fund their growing businesses.

The summit will be held on October 21st in Washington, D.C.
