PeopleFund Wins Innovation Award at 9th Annual Austin Chamber of Commerce Business Awards

Austin Chamber of Commerce honors PeopleFund with Bury + Partners’ Innovation Award in Non-Profit Category

AUSTIN, Texas – August 26th, 2009 – PeopleFund, a non-profit Community Development Financial Institution, was awarded Bury + Partners’ Innovation Award in the Non-Profit category at the 9th Annual Austin Chamber of Commerce Business Awards on Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 at the Hilton Austin Hotel at 500 East Fourth Street.

“We are delighted to accept this award, and are honored to have participated alongside our colleagues in the business and non-profit community who work continuously to improve the lives of Central Texans, “ said Margo Weisz, Executive Director of PeopleFund. “We are committed to expanding economic opportunities to underserved communities in the Greater Austin area.”

PeopleFund was presented the award by Barry Mayer, President of Tokyo Electron and Austin Chamber of Commerce Chair-Elect and Paul Bury, President of Bury + Partners and Chair of the Austin Chamber of Commerce. Also in attendance on behalf of PeopleFund were Gary Valdez, PeopleFund Board Member and Founder of Focus Strategies Investment Banking, Eric Scott, Director of Development at PeopleFund, and Barbra Boeta, Community Lender at PeopleFund.
