East Night GALA at PeopleFund’s New Headquarters Will Honor Former CEO Margo Weisz and Local Small Business Owners
Carnival Includes Building Tours, Local Food Vendors, and Over 30 Performers
PeopleFund and BBVA Compass Present East Night: With a Little Help From Our Friends. PeopleFund’s 9th annual East Night celebration takes a new direction this year as the organization prepares to move into its new headquarters in East Austin. Hosted at PeopleFund’s new Center for Economic Opportunity, the GALA will formally introduce PeopleFund’s new President and CEO, Gary Lindner, and honor Margo Weisz, PeopleFund’s former Executive Director.
The carnival-themed event will feature local food vendors, a menagerie of giant animal bikes and spectacular performances by the Austin Bike Zoo, and music by Minor Mishap Marching Band and the St. James Episcopal Church Choir. Valet parking is available at no cost.
When: Friday, October 1st from 6pm to 9pm
Where: PeopleFund’s Center for Economic Opportunity: 2921 E. 17th Street in East Austin (78702). Located between Chestnut Commons and MLK Light Rail Station

Visuals: Carnival includes various giant bicycles, including an 80’ illuminated rattle snake bike that will slither between the guests and around the event as stilt-walkers, jugglers, unicyclists, a magician, and a 15-piece marching band entertain the audience.
