Attention Austin Entrepreneurs: InnovateHer Business Challenge Calls for Products and Services Focused on Helping Women

As more women enter the workforce than ever before, the Small Business Administration recognizes that the needs of women and families are changing to accommodate household structures with two income-earners, or single female heads of household. To address the challenges in a creative and collaborative way, the SBA has partnered with the Texas State SBDC, Microsoft, the Women’s Business Center, SCORE, and the City of Austin’s Small Business Program to invite entrepreneurs to showcase products or services that have a measurable impact on the lives of women and families, have the potential for commercialization, and fill a market need.

Applications for the local Austin competition are due March 29th. The top 5 applicants in Austin will be asked to pitch their product, service, or technology at the Microsoft store in the Domain on March 31, 2015. The local winner will be announced and their application will be submitted to the national SBA competition the next day.

Cash prizes total up to $30,000, so spending the short amount of time needed to apply is well worth your time!

If you have a product or service that you think would have a beneficial impact on the lives of women in Austin, the state of Texas, or the country, fill out this one page form and attach a PDF file of your business plan.
