Thanksgiving is a time for reflection and gratitude, a season in which we turn up our coats against the cold and turn to each other for community and holiday cheer. It can often feel hectic, crowded, and stressful as we brave the grocery aisles to put together annually anticipated recipes. Thanksgiving certainly marks a bustling time of year for PeopleFund—we are closing loans, preparing budgets, and putting together reports to wrap up 2014 and usher in a new year. Despite the long to-do lists, it is important for us to come together as a team and give thanks for the incredible communities we serve, and dedicate ourselves again to our mission of serving people with high potential to make a great impact.
2014 has been a year of growth, and we are grateful for the new communities in the Rio Grande Valley who have reached out to us for support and education, as well as to the communities in Austin, Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, and all over Texas who continue to welcome us into their lives. We are thankful for our generous partners and sponsors, without whom we would not have the resources to carry out even a fraction of the work we accomplish.
We are thankful that we can continue to give the gift of opportunity to minority, women, low-income, and veteran entrepreneurs, and look forward to continuing our mission for many years to come. From our team to you—have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and happy holidays!
