Intern Farewell – Noelle Darilek

IMG_5467By Noelle Darilek

When I first began interning at PeopleFund this fall, one of the first things I noticed was how friendly and welcoming everyone was. I was excited to start my internship here and can’t believe how quickly it went by!

Interning at PeopleFund means several things. I worked as the Development and Communications Intern and had various different daily tasks. I helped to create, write and research information for blog posts and client features for the PeopleFund website, researched small businesses and contacted donors and business owners, worked with social media, helped with our annual East Night event and worked on so many more cool projects.

Everyone I worked with was always very helpful and willing to answer any questions I had, no matter how big or small. I felt as though the work I was doing were tasks that were useful, not only for me and for my experience, but also for the non-profit itself.

I love the mission behind this organization and how it strives to assist those in need of funding their businesses and provides other various services, as they are just getting started. I feel like PeopleFund has helped out so many and that its impact has truly made a difference on the clients and their communities.

I’m happy that I got to be a part of this organization for the semester and that I got to see firsthand what it’s like to work at PeopleFund and at a non-profit. It was a helpful, useful and good learning experience that I’m walking away from feeling more confident in my abilities in several different areas and I feel as though I have gained exposure to different areas and expanded on useful skills that I can use again in the future.
