City Manager Marc Ott Headlines PeopleTalk Speaker Series

Housing, Small Business, Budget, Transportation are Among Topics

AUSTIN, Texas – June 15, 2009 – PeopleFund, a socially responsible small business loan fund and affordable housing non-profit, welcomes Austin City Manager Marc Ott to its quarterly Speaker Series, PeopleTalk. Ott will speak on Friday, June 26 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Alamo Drafthouse South, 1120 South Lamar. Tickets, which include lunch, are $15 in advance at www.peoplefund.org and $20 at the door.

Since becoming City Manager in Jan. 2008, Ott has faced new challenges in providing services and maintaining city infrastructure as a result of the economic climate. Hear Ott discuss such topics as the city budget and finance, transportation, small business, housing, East Austin and the general Austin community. A question and answer session, moderated by City Council member Randi Shade, will follow Ott’s speech.

PeopleTalk is a quarterly lunch event, open to the public, with some of our country’s most prolific and provocative thinkers in the fields of economic opportunity, racial equity, and regional development. Speakers discuss new ideas and new models for addressing the economic and social future of our region.
